About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Contribute to control oversight and risk leadership for Technology third-party functions
Partner with Technology senior leadership, Technology Risk, Audit, and enterprise groups to establish and maintain a strong control environment for third-party usage
Identify and assess risks
Design and evaluate controls
Manage issues
Prepare governance reporting
Engage with regulators
Advance automation strategies that embed controls into the control environment
Act as a trusted advisor to senior technology and control management leaders in developing risk mitigation strategies
Lead design, implementation, and continuous improvement of control frameworks supporting third-party focus areas
Provide strategic oversight of enterprise technology risk, operational risk, resiliency risk, and regulatory compliance requirements
Monitor, measure, evaluate, and report on control and risk mitigation effectiveness
Lead assessment and remediation activities for audits, regulatory examinations, horizontal reviews, and independent testing
Drive proactive identification of emerging technology risks
Conduct risk and control governance activities, including executive-level reporting, risk committee materials, and regulatory updates
Mentor and guide control officers and virtual teams supporting technology control execution

Requirements

What you’ll need

7+ years of Risk Management or Financial Services Industry experience, or equivalent experience demonstrated through work experience, training, military experience, or education
5+ years supporting large-scale technology organizations
Experience in technology third-party risk management within a large financial services or highly regulated environment
Strong knowledge of third-party cybersecurity emerging topics, SaaS governance, third party resiliency, AI vendor risk, data risk and technology control frameworks
Knowledge of OCC Heightened Standards, FFIEC guidance, NIST, COBIT, and enterprise technology policies
Experience managing and executing risk programs aligned to a Risk, Compliance, or Control function
Broad and significant knowledge of Technology and associated challenges, risks, and required controls in a complex environment
Experience collaborating with leaders and team members at all levels and across functional lines
Comprehensive knowledge of strategic elements of financial, operational, technical, and regulatory environments across a complex global services environment
Track record of providing constructive consulting with appropriate issue escalation and offering solutions
Experience performing centralized governance, oversight responsibilities, and strategic planning for the Technology Control Framework
Experience performing centralized collection, administration, and support for critical engagements applicable to the Technology Control Framework
Experience developing and performing centralized process/control effectiveness and data compliance monitoring
Ability to articulate complex concepts clearly
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
