About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Administer Special Needs Trusts for beneficiaries with varying degrees of disability and/or incapacity
  • Work with trust partners, attorneys, caseworkers, and other professionals to administer trusts according to trust provisions, bank policies, Social Security regulations, Medicaid regulations, and legal requirements
  • Determine beneficiary needs and appropriate trust distributions with families of disabled individuals and field trust officers
  • Prevent beneficiary disqualification from SSI/Medicaid and other means-tested government benefit programs
  • Develop solutions with attorneys, tax professionals, social workers, case managers, and health care professionals
  • Identify and resolve risk issues on Special Needs Trust accounts
  • Collaborate with peers, colleagues, and managers to resolve issues and achieve goals
  • Interact with internal and external customers
  • Develop knowledge of functions, policies, procedures, and compliance requirements while exercising independent judgment
  • Deliver a high-touch client experience within a strong risk management framework
  • Resolve moderately complex issues involving distributions, account maintenance, account opening and closing, KYC requirements, annual account reviews, and overdraft management
  • Recommend process improvements and control development opportunities
  • Serve as a subject-matter expert on fiduciary administration for moderately complex accounts
  • Provide guidance on governing instruments, fiduciary principles, and prudent investing standards
  • Mentor and train lower-level staff
  • Participate in marketing and development initiatives with team leaders

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • 4+ years of Fiduciary Products experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of work experience, training, military experience, and education
  • Experience administering Special Needs Trusts preferred
  • J.D. and/or CTFA preferred
  • Bachelor preferred
  • Knowledge of Medicaid/Medicare and Social Security benefit programs
  • Experience interacting or communicating with trust beneficiaries and/or families of disabled individuals
  • Knowledge and understanding of estate, trust, or fiduciary administration
  • Ability to read and interpret legal documents
  • Ability to review trust agreement documents and ensure bank compliance
  • High level of organizational skills, including time and priority management
  • Ability to work effectively within a team and build strong working relationships across business channels and management levels
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with relationship team members, clients' advisors, and colleagues
  • Solutions-oriented and able to operate within a fast-paced environment
  • Strong conflict resolution skills
  • Strong leadership, communication, and presentation skills
  • Intermediate Microsoft Office skills
  • Not eligible for Visa sponsorship
