About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Lead Payments and Fraud Product Services within Global Payments Technology
  • Build and lead a high-performing engineering team
  • Review critical Java and Spring Boot code and contribute to high-risk deliverables
  • Own application resiliency and availability, including major-incident response and diagnosis/remediation
  • Set engineering standards across the application lifecycle
  • Create reference implementations and targeted code changes to reduce delivery risk
  • Lead complex initiatives end to end
  • Resolve escalated design and coding issues and review critical pull requests
  • Build proofs of concept
  • Set application strategy and improve APIs, service design, performance, scalability, and technical-debt reduction
  • Shape architecture, API and data design, secure coding standards, and reference solutions for OCP or Kubernetes
  • Own strategic commitments and OKRs and govern delivery quality
  • Hold strategic vendors accountable for performance, risk, cost, delivery, technical design, and code quality
  • Lead distributed U.S. and India teams
  • Develop leaders and engineering talent through hiring, coaching, design walkthroughs, code reviews, and pair programming
  • Lead responsible AI engineering adoption for prototyping, code quality, test automation, and vulnerability detection
  • Influence Business, Risk, Architecture, and Platform partners through technical analysis and solution development

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • 5+ years of Software Engineering experience, or equivalent demonstrated through work experience, training, military experience, education
  • 5+ years of experience with Java web services, Spring Boot, Spring, Domain and Event Driven Design, Automation, DevOps, Oracle, Mongo, Kafka/IBM MQ, and SDLC tools
  • 5+ years of talent and team development, finance forecasting, risk management, and presenting to senior leadership
  • 4+ years of Cloud experience with OCP or Kubernetes
  • 4+ years of Agile Methodology
  • 3+ years of management or leadership experience
  • 1+ year of demonstrated experience with AI-assisted code generation and test automation
  • Knowledge and experience within Payments domain
  • Ability to manage a diverse, geographically distributed team
  • Experience with production support teams in a fast-paced, customer-facing application environment
  • Demonstrated technical and hands-on experience driving architectural decisions
  • Ability to work onsite at one of the posted locations
