About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Manage, coach, and develop individual contributor engineers and less experienced managers
Ensure adherence to Banking Platform Architecture and non-functional requirements for each release
Engage architects and experienced engineers to apply technical strategies and support migration to target architecture
Represent the product technically in cross-team collaboration and planning
Identify and recommend solutions to technology roadblocks involving code, build, and deployment
Manage the software development cycle and security standards
Act as an escalation partner for scrum masters and teams, removing impediments and encouraging continuous improvement
Build engineering skills alongside the team in the codebase
Conduct peer reviews and guide design to ensure quality and alignment with technical direction
Ensure security, stability, and scalability while managing and mitigating technology and enterprise risk
Collaborate with Product Managers/Product Owners to drive user satisfaction, shape technology requirements and roadmap priorities, and promote innovative solutions
Advocate for agile and DevOps practices
Interact directly with third-party vendors and technology service providers
Manage allocation of people and financial resources for technology engineering
Manage career development and performance for engineers and managers
Hire, mentor, and guide direct reports to develop skills for designing and delivering innovative solutions

Requirements

What you’ll need

5+ years of Software Engineering experience, or equivalent demonstrated through work experience, training, military experience, or education
3+ years of Leadership experience
Experience leading an automation team
Experience with automation and transformation
Proven track record of driving engineering excellence, modernizing environments, and delivering business outcomes
Technical credibility in software engineering and network automation
Experience with network automation platforms such as Nautobot highly valued
Ability to lead high-performing engineering teams and influence strategy
Ability to take ownership of complex initiatives from concept through execution
Knowledge of modern technology, Banking Platform Architecture, non-functional requirements, cloud readiness, application modernization, data strategy, security, stability, scalability, software development cycles, and security standards
Ability to collaborate with architects, experienced engineers, Product Managers/Product Owners, scrum masters, third-party vendors, and technology service providers
Knowledge of agile and DevOps practices
Ability to manage people and financial resources, career development, performance management, hiring, mentoring, and talent development
