About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Identify new private capital opportunities for direct investing/lending and third-party capital advisory engagements
- Work with clients and prospects to find opportunities for Strategic Capital and Overland Advantage
- Lead evaluation of investment and loan opportunities, considering risk, reward, and portfolio construction
- Analyze opportunities, prepare investment committee materials, and present new investment and loan opportunities
- Assess new Overland credit opportunities with Private Capital Specialists
- Develop investor evaluation materials for capital advisory assignments and help manage investor outreach logistics
- Develop financial models for assigned opportunities
- Complete due diligence requests, legal entity work, execution/closing processes, and other transaction-closing activities
- Manage evaluation and closing of investments and loans
- Develop internal Wells Fargo and external financial intermediary networks to drive business development
- Supervise and mentor less experienced individual contributors
Requirements
What you’ll need- 5+ years of experience in Strategic Investment Management, or equivalent demonstrated through work experience, training, military experience, or education
- 5+ years of work experience in leveraged finance, capital markets, private capital, private equity, investment banking coverage, commercial/corporate banking, or equivalent experience
- Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, organization, and ability to solve complex or abstract problems
- Strong financial modeling experience, including the ability to create customized three-statement models independently
- Familiarity with evaluating and executing transactions related to private and traditional institutional markets
- Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
- Strong integrity, work ethic, initiative, accountability, and ability to work as a team player
- Ability to work independently or in teams in a fast-paced, loosely structured, entrepreneurial environment
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite: Excel, Outlook, Word, and PowerPoint
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Engineering, Business, or related field
- Ability to travel to different client/prospect markets as needed (<50% of time)
