About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Provide field-based environmental and land access compliance inspections across construction activities
  • Verify that approval conditions, management plans, actions, site controls, and Western Power requirements are understood and implemented by contractors
  • Undertake site inspections and assurance activities
  • Identify and raise emerging risks and drive timely close-out of corrective actions
  • Establish effective contractor relationships by providing practical, risk-based advice on conditions and controls
  • Maintain accurate and traceable inspection records and compliance evidence
  • Prepare detailed and accurate reports and participate in lessons learned
  • Monitor trends and provide field feedback to identify systemic issues
  • Improve tools, processes, and delivery practices
  • Complete audits against environmental compliance
  • Work with the Social Performance and Approvals function, project delivery team, and contractors on Clean Energy Link construction activities

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Demonstrated experience in environmental compliance and management in linear infrastructure, construction, resources, or a comparable environment
  • Experience conducting field inspections and assurance and verification activities, including managing corrective actions to closure
  • Experience assessing compliance against environmental approvals, licences, permits, management plans, and legislative requirements
  • Demonstrated ability to prepare clear, concise, and defensible audit reports
  • Sound knowledge of environmental approvals, environmental management plans, audit, and regulatory reporting in the context of WA legislation
  • Experience using GIS or digital reporting tools to collect evidence
  • Ability to interpret and communicate complex obligations and provide practical, risk-based advice to project delivery teams and contractors
  • Valid Western Australian Class C driver’s licence
  • Ability to undertake frequent field work in regional or remote areas
  • Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Management, or another relevant discipline
  • Experience in utilities or linear infrastructure, contract delivery, contractor performance monitoring, or land access compliance highly regarded
