About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Lead, coordinate, and monitor all shift activities to meet production schedules and quality standards
  • Supervise production staff and ensure compliance with standard operating procedures, safety protocols, and work instructions
  • Monitor machine performance, work orders, and material usage, resolving issues as they arise
  • Support job setups, preventative maintenance, and process adjustments
  • Facilitate communication between shifts and departments using handover reports, dashboards, and team briefings
  • Communicate production performance, goals, and expectations to shift personnel
  • Prepare and deliver updates to senior leadership regarding production status, employee issues, and operational challenges
  • Use ERP or MES systems to track production metrics, log incidents, review work orders, and manage time reporting
  • Assist with planning, scheduling, and job prioritization
  • Maintain records related to production performance, attendance, quality concerns, and downtime incidents
  • Analyze production data to identify trends, root causes, and improvement areas
  • Collaborate with quality, maintenance, and engineering teams to resolve product and process issues
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives using 5 Whys, Fishbone Diagram, and Pareto Analysis
  • Set and communicate performance goals
  • Coach, mentor, and train employees
  • Document and escalate disciplinary issues with HR and upper management
  • Support onboarding and cross-training
  • Take on additional responsibilities as needed

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • Associate or Technical Degree preferred
  • 3+ years of manufacturing or production experience, with at least 1 year in a supervisory or lead role
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Proven analytical skills, including ability to assess complex problems and implement effective solutions
  • Proficiency in using computer systems (ERP, MES, Excel, production software)
  • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to lead diverse teams across shifts
  • Demonstrated ability to prioritize, manage time effectively, and meet production deadlines
  • Knowledge of safety regulations, GMP, lean manufacturing, or Six Sigma is a plus
  • Ability to work well with others one-on-one, remotely, via video and phone
  • Ability to work independently
