About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Ensure availability, reliability, and continuous improvement of plastic injection molding machines and auxiliary equipment
Lead and implement corrective, preventive, and predictive maintenance strategies
Implement continuous improvement projects to optimize OEE, MTTR, MTBF, and uptime
Inspect and maintain equipment through routine inspections, testing, and maintenance
Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic failures
Install new machinery and systems
Support chillers, temperature regulators, material handlers, compressors, robots, and extraction systems
Document maintenance activities and ensure traceability in the IQMS system
Manage resources and budgets, supervise contractors, and coach technical staff
Develop and monitor PM, TPM, and RCM maintenance plans
Reduce downtime, scrap, and energy consumption through improvement initiatives
Participate in Kaizen, SMED, equipment standardization, and spare-parts optimization projects
Analyze and report MTBF, MTTR, PM compliance, unscheduled downtime, and OEE
Submit weekly and monthly performance reports to operations and maintenance leadership
Support preventive maintenance schedules, quick-change tool designs, and lean manufacturing principles
Lead cost-reduction initiatives through machine, EOAT, and process improvements
Maintain machine records, drawings, BOMs, maintenance logs, and project tracking
Generate and present progress, issue, and performance reports
Track machine cycle times, scrap rates, and changeover efficiencies
Collaborate with Production and Tool Room on mold startups, validations, and releases
Coordinate specialized support with external suppliers
Ensure audit compliance under ISO, IATF, FDA, and medical-grade standards when applicable

Requirements

What you’ll need

Minimum 5 years of experience in plastic injection machinery maintenance
Advanced knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems
Familiarity with PLC programming and automation systems
Knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics, PLCs, servo drives, robotics, and electrical schematics
Experience in TPM, Lean Manufacturing, Kaizen, or Six Sigma is desirable
Knowledge of OEE, MTTR, and MTBF indicators
Strong analytical and critical thinking skills
Technical leadership and ability to work under pressure
Advanced English and Spanish language skills preferred
Ability to lift and move 100 lbs
Ability to work well with others and independently
Mechanical Engineering, Electromechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, or similar field exposure
