About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Manage assigned substation projects from conception through construction and commissioning
- Support engineering requirements and scope development during the conceptual phase
- Report to the onsite manager
- Manage long-lead major material orders to minimize delay and budget risks
- Support Transmission Services in reviewing interconnection documentation, including system impact, facility, reactive and harmonic studies, and interconnection agreements
- Train, perform due diligence on, and provide technical oversight of external engineers of record
- Ensure compliance with interconnection agreements, project specifications, site-specific design requirements, IEEE, NESC, ASCE, and other applicable standards
- Coordinate substation site development, engineering updates, data, and permits
- Communicate with transmission owners, operators, and ISOs to meet off-taker requirements
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary project engineering resources on priorities, work plans, and lines of demarcation
- Ensure projects are implemented efficiently, cost-effectively, and safely
- Support project commissioning activities
- Support Legal with regulatory filings, depositions, and hearings
- Travel within North America as required
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Mechanical or Civil/Structural Engineering is preferred
- Must have 7+ years experience in Substation design and engineering of High Voltage substation projects
- Project Engineering and/or Project Management experience
- PMP and/or P.E. in related discipline is helpful
- Compliance with applicable United States and comparable export control requirements, where applicable
