About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Lead teams in complex supplier program development, oversight, and quality verification activities
- Support technical and quality evaluations of suppliers for nuclear-grade products
- Lead resolution of complex supplier quality problems
- Provide specialized quality engineering expertise and subject-matter knowledge
- Resolve supplier quality issues to improve design integrity, material performance, and code compliance
- Perform independent verification activities and assess supplier quality management systems
- Implement and sustain supplier quality management systems
- Ensure supplied items, materials, and services meet quality assurance, regulatory, customer, nuclear safety-related, and augmented safety requirements
- Partner with Engineering, Procurement, QA, and Project teams
- Create certification documents identifying procurement requirements met by purchased materials or equipment
- Lead global supply-base assessments for regulatory, ASME, and Westinghouse requirements
- Mentor less experienced engineers and provide leadership by example
- Contribute independently and collaboratively to complex project or process solutions
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor's degree or higher in Engineering
- 8+ years of related experience
- Proficient in reading and interpreting technical drawings and specifications
- Ability to explain QA procedures to internal personnel, external customers, subcontractors, suppliers, and licensees
- Demonstrated ability to use a structured, analytical questioning approach to assess risks, develop solutions, and prioritize work
- Commitment to personal, industrial, and nuclear safety
- NQA-1 Certified Lead Auditor certification is desirable
- Ability to travel 40–50%
