About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Design, develop, and qualify manual, mechanized, or robotic welding processes for nuclear equipment maintenance, repair, or installation projects
  • Prepare Welding Procedure Specifications (WPS) and Procedure Qualification Records (PQR) for welding operations
  • Select technologies and materials suited to the technical specifications
  • Contribute to the design and development of specialized tooling
  • Develop test programs for process development and qualification
  • Optimize processes in line with performance, quality, and safety requirements
  • Ensure compliance with RCC-M, EN 1090, ISO 3834, ASME, and applicable regulatory requirements
  • Supervise process development and qualification testing in the workshop
  • Supervise non-destructive and destructive testing of welds
  • Participate in resolving non-conformities and propose innovative solutions
  • Work with operations teams to train operators and prepare for and carry out on-site interventions
  • Participate in customer-site interventions as required
  • Monitor welding activities with project teams
  • Contribute to budget preparation during the tendering phase
  • Contribute to the preparation of project and intervention schedules

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Engineering degree in metallurgy, welding, or materials science
  • IWE (International Welding Engineer) certification or equivalent
  • Proven experience in welding process development
  • Knowledge of mechanized or robotic welding processes
  • Strong knowledge of materials and the specific requirements of the nuclear sector, including stainless steel and alloys
  • In-depth knowledge of welding standards and codes, including RCC-M, EN 15614, and ISO 14731
  • Proficiency in non-destructive testing (NDT) technologies, including ultrasonic testing, radiography, and dye penetrant testing
  • Knowledge of mechanized welding machines
  • Innovative mindset and ability to solve complex problems
  • Ability to work in a multicultural and international environment
  • Strong interest in hands-on activities in a workshop or on-site environment
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in mechanized/robotic welding, ideally in the nuclear sector or another highly regulated industrial environment
  • Fluency in French is required for communication and documentation
  • Fluency in English is required for communication and documentation
  • Additional European language is an advantage
  • Willingness to travel within Europe as required by project needs
  • Candidates must meet comparable French and U.S. export control requirements
