About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Combine hands-on engineering expertise with technical leadership and AI-driven innovation
Spend approximately 60% of time on hands-on solution and framework engineering
Focus approximately 20% on AI, GitHub Copilot and developer enablement
Dedicate approximately 20% to technical leadership, standards, mentoring and coaching
Design and deliver scalable data services, modern engineering frameworks and AI-enabled solutions
Help uplift engineering capability across the wider team
Develop and support end-to-end production solutions
Implement automated testing, CI/CD pipelines and DevSecOps practices
Promote engineering best practices
Communicate technical decisions to stakeholders
Identify and manage security, privacy and AI-related risks throughout the delivery lifecycle

Requirements

What you’ll need

5+ years' experience in Data, Software or Platform Engineering
At least 3 years working on cloud-based data platforms
Strong hands-on expertise in Python, SQL and modern data platforms such as Snowflake
Experience designing, building and supporting end-to-end production solutions
Proven capability implementing automated testing, CI/CD pipelines and DevSecOps practices
Demonstrated technical leadership, including mentoring, coaching and promoting engineering best practices
Hands-on experience developing AI-enabled data services using Python, APIs and cloud data platforms
Experience leveraging GitHub Copilot and AI-assisted development tools
Strong solution design and architecture skills
Ability to communicate technical decisions to a range of stakeholders
Experience identifying and managing security, privacy and AI-related risks throughout the delivery lifecycle
Highly desirable: Experience with GitHub Copilot, Generative AI, Agentic AI, MCP integrations, LLM/RAG solutions, dbt, Airflow, Spark, Kafka, Terraform, Azure, TypeScript/React, and financial services environments
