About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Provide full district leadership on temporary or interim assignments, including vacancies, leaves of absence, and leadership transitions
- Execute the vision of the Regional Director of Operations
- Assess stores, teams, KPIs, and market conditions and build prioritized action plans
- Maintain or improve revenue, occupancy, and profitability across assigned districts
- Stabilize and support underperforming districts or stores
- Support onboarding and lease-up of acquired, converted, and newly opened facilities
- Provide transition reports covering store status, team assessments, KPI trends, and open action items
- Identify and recommend high-potential managers for development and advancement
- Develop and execute strategies for revenue, occupancy, profitability, growth, and efficiency
- Foster collaboration and effective communication across teams and departments
- Coordinate facility conversions, openings, and other special projects
- Review store environments and business indicators and coach store employees toward operational goals
- Monitor competitors through competitor property visits
- Oversee financial performance and KPIs for each store
- Monitor controllable expenses and maximize return on investment
- Analyze financial reports and address district performance trends and issues
- Conduct monthly site audits and inspections
- Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures
- Coach store managers on repairs, maintenance, and use of the company maintenance program/tool
- Supervise, interview, hire, train, and evaluate property and store management employees
- Enforce company policies and procedures
- Schedule employee work hours
- Support recruitment, retention, and development of store management teams
- Develop management teams to deliver exceptional customer experiences
- Perform other assigned duties and periodic special projects
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s degree preferred but not required
- Equivalent of 3-5 years of work-related experience and/or training in retail sales, retail, customer service, sales management, and/or multi-unit management
- Prior district-level or multi-unit leadership experience strongly preferred
- Exceptional leadership skills and experience supervising others
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation required
- Weekend availability may occasionally be required
- Ability and willingness to travel up to 50% of the time and accept assignments in different districts on short notice
- Temporary relocation or extended stays away from home may be required
- Eagerness and work ethic to succeed in a customer service environment
- General office and telephone skills
- Basic computer skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Good organizational skills
- Ability to work independently and maintain a positive attitude in a multi-location supervisory role
- Ability to quickly build credibility and rapport with new teams and adapt leadership style across districts and markets
- Comfortable with change, ambiguity, and shifting priorities
- Ability and willingness to work remotely as necessary
- Must maintain a valid state driver’s license when driving for company business
- Must pass a post-offer, pre-hire background screening including a multi-state criminal check and DMV records
- Ability to perform essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodation
- Ability to occasionally lift or carry objects weighing up to 50 pounds
