About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Lead complex, broad-impact initiatives and provide high-level systems consultation for technology teams
  • Participate in large-scale planning of computer systems and network infrastructure for the Systems Operations functional area
  • Review and analyze complex technical challenges and escalated support issues related to core business solutions
  • Evaluate alternatives, enhancements, periodic systems reviews, and improvements to existing systems
  • Make decisions on technical changes and enhancements
  • Consult with engineering teams on change design requiring understanding of technical process controls and standards
  • Collaborate with technical peers, colleagues, and mid- to more-experienced managers to resolve systems support issues and achieve goals

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • 5+ years of Systems Engineering, Technology Architecture experience, or equivalent demonstrated through work experience, training, military experience, or education
  • 5+ years of SRE practice experience
  • 3+ years of experience with Observability (logging, monitoring, and event detection) on cloud or distributed platforms
  • Experience with Elasticsearch, Kibana, Kafka, Airflow, Logstash, Grafana, Elastic APM, Jaeger, and Zipkin for Distributed Tracing
  • 2+ years of Hosting Platforms experience
  • Experience with AWS, OCP, Kubernetes, PKS, Azure, VMware, Unix, Linux, and Windows
  • Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
  • 3+ years of DevOps experience
  • Experience with Jenkins, Maven, Gradle, Groovy, Artifactory, GIT, Harness IO, Spinnaker, Kubernetes, Terraform, and UDeploy
  • 5+ years of experience with Agile methodology
  • 1+ year of IT Service Management experience
  • Experience with AIOPS, ServiceNow, Remedy, Big Panda, and Netcool
