About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Manage monthly revenue close, including detailed analytics and review of transaction processes for domestic and global revenue streams
Record journal entries and maintain accurate supporting documentation
Prepare and review account reconciliations
Review customer and marketing agreements
Work with cross-functional teams to ensure timely and accurate reporting
Support external audit requirements related to assigned areas
Build standard operating procedures
Tackle process improvements, new-entity reconciliations, ad hoc reporting, and marketing contract reviews
Manage assigned projects and collaborate with cross-functional team members to deliver high-quality information to business partners
Develop a deep understanding of Whatnot's product and use the app as both a buyer and seller

Requirements

What you’ll need

2-3+ years of professional accounting experience
BA/BS in Accounting
Detailed understanding of month-end close processes
Thorough US GAAP expertise
Advanced Excel and data transformation skills
Curiosity and willingness to adopt AI tools to improve efficiency and quality of work
Proven ability to succeed in a fast-paced and constantly changing environment while running tight deadlines
Self-starter with a strong sense of ownership; takes initiative to simplify and improve processes
CPA is desired
Experience in e-commerce/tech industries preferred
Prior experience with NetSuite, FloQast, ZIP, Snowflake, and Sigma is a bonus
Must live within commuting distance of the San Francisco, New York City, or Los Angeles hubs
New hires participate in an in-person onboarding experience at one of the offices
