Key responsibilities & impact
  • Drive cross-org technical impact by creating capabilities that do not yet exist
  • Establish technical direction across organizational boundaries through strategy documents, RFCs, and architecture reviews
  • Identify systemic risks and opportunities across multiple organizations
  • Build patterns and frameworks that become engineering defaults
  • Steward the health and evolution of multiple systems
  • Shape engineering culture through mentorship, internal collaboration, external speaking, and new programs or processes
  • Deliver complex technical initiatives at consumer scale

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • 10+ years of software engineering experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, a related field, or equivalent work experience
  • Track record of cross-org technical leadership at consumer scale
  • Deep mastery in one or more technical domains
  • Proven track record of cross-org impact
  • Strong technical judgment
  • Experience building systems and patterns that outlast individual ownership
  • Experience delivering complex, ambiguous, cross-functional initiatives
  • Experience with consumer-scale, high-traffic, high-reliability systems
  • Must live within commuting distance of the New York, San Francisco, Seattle, or Los Angeles hub
  • Legally authorized to work in the United States
  • Ability to satisfy the company's United States visa sponsorship requirements
