About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Build ads products across the full ads stack, including bidding and targeting, ranking/auction, serving, campaign management, and seller tooling
- Build highly scalable advertising systems supporting online advertising and helping sellers differentiate themselves on Whatnot
- Analyze data, logging, and system behavior to evaluate performance, correctness, and impact
- Understand buyer and seller experiences and help them scale their businesses through ads products
- Own problems end to end and grow into new areas as the team scales
- Make sound product decisions, prioritize high-impact features, and ship high-quality products quickly
- Collaborate across engineering, product, design, and data
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, a related field, or equivalent practical experience
- 4+ years of professional software engineering experience building and shipping backend systems in production environments
- Strong experience designing, building, and operating scalable, maintainable backend services
- Strong technical judgment and ability to make thoughtful tradeoffs between speed, quality, reliability, and long-term maintainability
- Experience working in fast-moving, cross-functional product or platform environments
- Comfort owning ambiguous problem spaces and turning them into clear technical plans and shipped outcomes
- Strong communication and collaboration skills across engineering, product, design, and data
- Product-minded approach to engineering
- Legally authorized to work in Poland
