About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Manage a portfolio of plants as the client's primary technical and commercial point of contact after project delivery
  • Serve as the plant manager's Whitefox counterpart, connecting cartridge reliability, process benefits, operations, and commercial context
  • Participate in project execution pods, weekly meetings, kickoff site visits, PFD development, P&ID reviews, layouts, and HAZOP reviews
  • Develop programming guidelines and SOPs and coordinate automation programming and controls/data-collection integration
  • Coordinate commissioning readiness and completion of the Ready for Commissioning Checklist
  • Lead commissioning from kickoff through handover, including objectives, startup/shutdown logic testing, and cartridge installation and acceptance documentation
  • Maintain the core technical file and lead technical assessments during commissioning and startup
  • Complete commissioning closeout, customer training, O&M handover documentation, and lessons-learned sessions
  • Lead client check-ins, produce operations reports, provide remote engineering support, monitor plant operations, and verify training
  • Guide cartridge maintenance decisions and coordinate lab sampling with the Whitefox Calgary lab
  • Analyze energy and cooling-water benefits, monitor data, optimize systems, and guide customer operational adjustments
  • Drive customer satisfaction and maximize operational benefits
  • Manage cartridge-replacement commitments, stock levels, quotes, and future expansion opportunities
  • Track plant changes and communicate impacts on cartridge life, energy, and operations to Commercial and Innovation
  • Lead a cross-functional O&M team of field technicians, process engineers, and product team members
  • Set objectives, manage priorities, coordinate delivery, track O&M support hours, and develop proposals for out-of-scope work
  • Travel to customer sites for commissioning, O&M activities, and other client needs
  • Improve team efficiency, update and create templates, use AI tools to streamline recurring work, and contribute to internal projects
  • Represent Whitefox at industry conferences and maintain vendor and third-party networks
  • Participate in the health and safety program, including hazard assessments, quarterly process safety reviews, and incident reporting

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor's degree in a chemical engineering discipline from an accredited university
  • 5+ years industry experience; Ethanol preferred but not required
  • Understanding and experience producing engineering deliverables, including PFDs, P&IDs, SOPs, and programming guidelines
  • Site experience working at a production facility
  • Experience leading a team toward a common goal
  • Experience managing a client relationship across more than one site is a plus
  • Unwavering commitment to health and safety and safe work practices
  • Ability to coordinate accurate and timely client-facing communications
  • Ability to work with process design, detailed engineering, operations, and project teams
  • Ability to assess complex issues, determine ownership, and escalate when appropriate
  • Ability to work independently across geographically dispersed customer sites and internal teams
  • Ability to learn new technologies, processes, and operating environments quickly
  • Ability to protect client and Whitefox intellectual property and confidential information
  • Ability to represent Whitefox's values, professional standards, and safety culture
  • Ability to execute tasks and guide a team with little oversight
