About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Upload behavioral health claims accurately and timely in the electronic claims processing system.
- Ensure claims follow State, Federal, Contractual, and Agency standards.
- Verify member eligibility, benefit limits, and authorizations.
- Ensure standard billing practices are met for claim adjudication.
- Send accurate explanations of benefits to providers.
- Develop and maintain strong working relationships with providers.
- Respond to claims inquiries by phone, fax, and mail.
- Respond to audits within the timeframe specified by the manager.
- Execute assignments independently while maintaining compliance with facility policies, contract requirements, organization bylaws, and federal and state regulations.
Requirements
What you’ll need- Associate (AA) degree.
- Three (3) years relevant medical office experience.
- High school diploma or GED with five (5) years related experience may be substituted.
- Thorough understanding of Florida Medicaid regulations and requirements.
- Ability to work independently with good decision-making skills.
- Critical thinking skills.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize responsibilities.
- Ability to maintain effective working relationships with internal and external customers.
- Extremely detail oriented with a high level of accuracy and ability to resist distractions.
- Friendly, confident, and knowledgeable phone presence.
- Proficient computer skills and ability to use Microsoft Office.
- Thorough understanding of HIPAA guidelines and regulations regarding confidentiality and Release of Information regarding medical records.
- Proper telephone etiquette and excellent customer service.
- Must pass organization screening requirements, including state or federal background screenings as appropriate.
- Drug testing required.
