About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Assist counselors, therapeutic staff, and nursing staff by providing clinical support to adults and children receiving substance abuse, mental health, or co-occurring disorder services.
  • Establish positive helping relationships with persons receiving services.
  • Assist with activities of daily living, accessing needed resources, and building functional, pro-social relationships.
  • Ensure the health, safety, and well-being of persons receiving services.
  • Implement specific interventions according to treatment or service plans.
  • Monitor and document progress.
  • Provide support across residential, inpatient, day/evening, outpatient, and community-based programs.

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • At least one (1) year of experience working with children and families or completed one year (24 hours) of college classes.
  • Knowledge and understanding of the characteristics of children with mental health concerns, families, and family systems preferred.
  • Must be able to provide individualized, integrated mental health, substance abuse and co-occurring services to meet the needs of individuals served and their families, as required.
  • Good oral and written communication skills.
  • Must be able to pass organization screening requirements, including state or federal background screenings as appropriate.
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license from the state in which you reside, a good driving record and be insurable under the corporate policy.
  • Drug testing required.
  • A Level II background screening is required.
