Key responsibilities & impact

Design and build the agent harness for planning, tool calls, failure recovery and handoffs
Build multi-turn routing so conversations and tasks reach the appropriate agent, tool and model with the right context
Integrate tools and external systems through MCP and custom tool interfaces
Own prompt management, versioning and evaluation
Build the distributed backend, including queues, state, retries, observability and latency control
Design audit trails and access controls for explainable and reviewable agent actions
Apply healthcare compliance requirements such as HIPAA
Work directly with founders and initial healthcare customers
Observe agent behavior in clinical settings and fix production issues

Requirements

What you’ll need

Currently hold, or recently held, a Principal, Staff or Senior title in ML, AI or software engineering
Recent experience writing production code
Built software from zero to one at a startup, from first commit to real users
Shipped AI agents, tool calling or multi-turn routing systems to production
Production-quality Python
Comfortable with at least one of Go, Rust or TypeScript
Built and operated distributed systems at scale
Hands-on experience with LLM APIs, evaluation of non-deterministic systems, and prompt and context management
Based in Europe or EMEA and able to work with the team across European time zones
Work history and identity confirmed before the first screen
