About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Counsel individuals, couples, and families on estate plans reflecting their personal and financial goals
- Advise on incapacity planning and orderly succession
- Prepare wills, revocable trusts, durable powers of attorney, and advance directives
- Coordinate asset titling and beneficiary designations
- Represent personal representatives and trustees in probate and trust administration
- Handle asset collection, valuation, distribution, fiduciary tax compliance, and administrative questions or disputes
- Collaborate with Tax, Business, Real Estate, and Litigation colleagues
- Cultivate lasting relationships with clients, their families, and professional advisors
Requirements
What you’ll need- 5+ years of experience as a trusts and estates attorney focused on estate planning, probate, and trust administration
- Experience drafting core planning documents and guiding administrations to completion
- Working knowledge of fiduciary tax compliance, asset administration, beneficiary coordination, and Florida probate procedure
- Ability to counsel families with compassion and confidentiality
- Ability to explain legal concepts in clear, reassuring terms
- Organization and professional maturity to manage a substantial caseload independently
- Ability to collaborate with attorneys, paralegals, clients, and outside advisors
- Juris Doctor degree from an ABA-accredited law school
- Membership in The Florida Bar in good standing, or eligibility and willingness to sit for the Florida Bar Examination in the near future
- Florida Bar Board Certification in Wills, Trusts & Estates is welcomed
