About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Provide technical leadership supporting Wyoming and Piceance Basin assets
  • Perform technical and economic evaluations, performance testing, design support, construction, and reliability improvements
  • Direct the work of engineers and technical staff as needed
  • Serve as technical authority for electrical systems within assigned geographic areas and operating assets
  • Apply specialized electrical engineering knowledge to major projects and operational initiatives
  • Prepare and deliver technical presentations
  • Assess customer needs and develop practical, compliant solutions
  • Support integrated facility design and operations across engineering disciplines
  • Drive improvements to systems, processes, and services
  • Collaborate with operations, maintenance, and engineering teams on compliance, improvement plans, and training needs
  • Champion electrical best practices, safety standards, and reliability-centered maintenance strategies
  • Monitor and control project costs, schedules, and resource utilization
  • Support electrical outages and maintenance activities, including testing and evaluation of switchgear, VFDs, MCCs, transformers, breakers, grounding systems, protective relays, motors, UPS systems, generators, and power cables
  • Maintain and update electrical documentation, including one-line diagrams, schematics, equipment drawings, and C&E charts
  • Develop and improve condition-based maintenance programs
  • Lead electrical troubleshooting, fault analysis, and root-cause investigations
  • Perform power system and arc-flash studies and implement recommendations
  • Support small and capital electrical projects through design, installation, and commissioning
  • Perform technical electrical reviews for MOC packages and participate in incident investigations and life-critical work processes
  • Develop and deliver technical training for electrical technicians
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant Engineering field from an accredited college or university, OR Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering Technology in a relevant field with Professional Engineer (P.E.) license
  • Minimum eight (8) years of multifaceted engineering experience in the natural gas or petrochemical industry
  • Advanced experience in complex electrical engineering assignments
  • Strong communication skills
  • Ability to make independent technical decisions
  • Awareness of applicable industry codes, standards, and operational requirements
  • Experience with low-, medium-, and high-voltage substations and distribution systems
  • Experience with power system and arc-flash studies
  • Experience with SKM, ETAP, or equivalent power system analysis tools
  • Protection relay programming, testing, event analysis, and lifecycle management
  • Familiarity with Allen-Bradley, DeltaV, and Yokogawa control systems preferred
  • Project management experience preferred
