About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Lead and support project engineering execution for compressor station and facility projects across the full lifecycle
- Manage engineering deliverables and guide design progression through 30%, 60%, and 90% design reviews
- Coordinate multidisciplinary engineering efforts across mechanical, civil, and structural systems
- Oversee third-party engineering firms to ensure design quality, regulatory compliance, and deliverable accountability
- Work with project managers to align delivery strategy, budgets, and resource planning
- Identify and mitigate engineering risks and resolve design gaps
- Support procurement by developing material requisitions and ensuring equipment aligns with project requirements
- Execute engineering design for maintenance-related work and larger-scale asset builds
- Prepare and deliver presentations
- Anticipate customer needs, assess requirements, and identify solutions
- Interpret business challenges and improve products, processes, or services
- Collaborate with teams to ensure compliance, build improvement plans, and meet training needs
- Champion processes, procedures, and safety standards
- Monitor and control project costs and resources
- Develop engineering execution strategies and manage quality control and project timelines
- Coordinate with project teams and communicate project drivers
- Partner with contractors and project teams to ensure technical aspects meet expectations, quality standards, and execution strategy
- Address technical content of purchase orders
- Ensure requests for information are promptly resolved
- Develop commissioning plans, close projects, and maintain accurate regulatory documentation
- Provide technical expertise during project standards reviews
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant Engineering field from an ABET accredited college or university, OR Bachelor's Degree in Engineering Technology in a relevant field with Professional Engineer (P.E.) license
- Minimum eight (8) years of multifaceted engineering experience in the natural gas or petrochemical industry
- Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills
- Safety as a main priority
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and PC skills
- Proficiency in engineering specialties covering more than one subject area
- Advanced knowledge of engineering workflows, project life cycles, and design principles
- Knowledge of applicable design guides and standards across various engineering disciplines
- Proficiency in interpreting engineering deliverables
- Knowledge of construction and constructability practices and principles
- Preferred: Project Management experience
- Preferred: Understanding of project controls and estimating processes and procedures
- Preferred: Procurement and contract administration experience
