About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Lead a diverse team of engineers and other technical specialists supporting operations
- Improve operability, maintainability, and reliability of existing operational assets
- Ensure work complies with policies and procedures
- Serve as a contact point for business development, commercial development, and operations
- Develop and maintain relationships with internal and external business partners
- Supervise third-party project managers, consulting engineers, construction inspectors, and contractors
- Participate in planning, commissioning, and start-up of new and modified facilities
- Supervise computer modeling and data analysis for evaluating, justifying, and developing solutions
- Provide technical support for troubleshooting, regulatory compliance, optimization, start-up, and turnarounds
- Coordinate workforce planning and team-member career development
- Manage costs through planning, budgeting, forecasting, and scheduling
- Support safety, reliability, environmental, and regulatory compliance initiatives
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor's Degree in a relevant Engineering field from an ABET-accredited college or university, OR Bachelor's Degree in Engineering Technology in a relevant field with a Professional Engineer (P.E.) license and a minimum of eight (8) years of multifaceted engineering experience in the natural gas, petrochemical, or related industry
- A minimum of six (6) years of engineering experience
- Previous leadership experience preferred
- PE Certification preferred
- Excellent organizational/interpersonal skills
- Safety as the utmost priority
- Proficiency in Microsoft Applications and PC skills
- Ability to analyze, develop and implement process improvements, documentation and reports
- Experience in three or more of: Operations, Design, Engineering, Project Management, Business Development, Construction, Environmental or Front-line Supervision
- Ability to independently perform PLC programming, troubleshooting, and commissioning activities
- Ability to lead complex control system troubleshooting during facility startup, outages, and upset conditions
- Experience reviewing and approving PLC logic changes, HMI modifications, alarm philosophies, and control narratives
- Expertise performing field investigations and developing practical corrective actions for control system issues
- Experience supporting growth and maintenance capital project execution
- Ability to serve as technical authority for automation scope during detailed design, construction, and commissioning
- Experience coordinating automation resources across multiple projects and geographic regions
- Ability to assess project risks and develop mitigation strategies related to controls and commissioning
