About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Work under the direction of the Operations Manager to achieve safety, operational, and maintenance priorities
- Serve as a role model for safe operations and provide visible leadership
- Lead and supervise a skilled group of technicians
- Coordinate and ensure team members are adequately trained and capable of identifying hazards and safely performing duties
- Verify work is performed in accordance with policies and procedures
- Maintain a safe, secure, and motivating work environment
- Hold employees accountable for safe practices
- Maintain a consistent presence at work sites
- Supervise and audit critical safety procedures and provide immediate, regular feedback
- Assist with budgeting and forecasting and conduct routine operating cost analysis
- Communicate outage plans to business partners to minimize customer and profitability impacts
- Foster a collaborative environment where information is readily shared
- Arrange workforce planning and career development for team members
- Delegate and coordinate the work of others
- Maintain positive relationships with internal and external customers
- Ensure economic operations through accurate planning, budgeting, forecasting, and scheduling
- Support safety, high reliability, environmental, and regulatory compliance
- Analyze and develop process improvements and vital documentation
- Serve as a subject matter expert or change agent for organizational programs and initiatives
- Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements
What you’ll need- High School diploma or GED required
- Minimum of three (3) years’ experience as a supervisor or senior lead role
- Minimum of eight (8) years of industry-specific operations experience
- Valid state driver’s license and clean driving record
- Excellent project management, organizational, and interpersonal skills
- Safety as the utmost priority
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and PC skills
- Broad knowledge of pipeline operations, engineering practices, and regulatory compliance
- Ability to work in extreme temperatures, loud noises, and enclosed spaces
- Ability to carry or lift items up to 50 lbs and team lift loads over 50 lbs as needed
- Ability to stand, walk, climb, bend, stoop, and squat for extended periods
- Ability to work at elevated levels using man lifts, ladders, scaffolding, and/or small towers with appropriate PPE
- Ability to use hand tools
- Preferred: Associate's degree
- Preferred: Proficiency in troubleshooting tools such as P&IDs, data historian process trending, SCADA, and laboratory/on-line analyzer analysis
