About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Lead data governance projects from assessment and Data Operating Model design through organizational implementation
Bring business functions, IT, and management together and drive decisions on ownership, data quality, and access rights
Implement governance rules in the catalog, access permissions, and the data product lifecycle on the platform
Define who maintains, reviews, and approves business context and semantics (Context Layer Governance)
Build a new service offering in which governance roles are assumed on an interim basis and ongoing maintenance is supported by AI
Contribute to proposals from solution design through customer presentation
Provide subject-matter guidance to consultants and share knowledge across the team
Travel approximately 1–2 times per month for customer meetings and team events

Requirements

What you’ll need

Several years of experience (approximately 5 years or more) in data governance or data management projects, in consulting or on the corporate side
Knowledge of operating models, role concepts, and the data product lifecycle
Basic knowledge of at least one data platform, ideally SAP Business Data Cloud (SAP Datasphere) or Dremio
Understanding of how governance is implemented on data platforms
Confident presence when engaging with business unit leaders, IT, and management
Interest in regulatory requirements such as the EU AI Act
Business-fluent German (C1 level or higher)
Good command of English
Advantageous: experience evaluating and prioritizing data or AI use cases or developing business cases for them
