About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Fly UAVs as needed by the Company in any location around the globe
- Maintain a high level of technical knowledge
- Conduct pre-flight checks to ensure aircraft are in proper working condition
- Operate UAVs according to Company procedures
- Ensure compliance with airspace regulations and safety protocols
- Document and report issues and gather mission data
- Perform routine UAV maintenance and troubleshoot technical issues or malfunctions
- Stay informed about and adhere to local, national, and international aviation regulations
- Obtain necessary permits and approvals for flight operations in restricted areas
- Coordinate with ground crews, project managers, and other team members
- Communicate with air traffic control when required
- Maintain accurate flight logs, maintenance records, and incident reports
- Stay updated on UAV technology and industry best practices
- Participate in training programs
- Support the wider Operations team when not on operations
- Undertake additional duties as required by the Company
Requirements
What you’ll need- Clean Driving Licence
- Right to live and work in the UK
- High level of competency of MS Excel
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent organisational and problem-solving skills
- Ability to prioritise tasks and meet deadlines
- Attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high standards
- Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
- Ability to work outside normal working hours when required
- Experience with specific UAV platforms and software (desirable)
- Prior manned or fixed-wing remote controlled aircraft experience (desirable)
- Instructional experience (desirable)
- Background in aviation, engineering, or a related field (desirable)
- Advanced driving qualifications (desirable)
- Military experience valued (desirable)
