About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Own and operate Windsor Path's origination pipeline in Affinity
- Manage external BDR firms sourcing proprietary deal flow and hold them accountable to volume and quality standards
- Execute multi-channel proprietary outreach through calls, email, LinkedIn, and conferences
- Qualify targets against Windsor Path's investment criteria and prioritize the pipeline
- Maintain pipeline hygiene, reporting, and weekly KPI delivery
- Lead introductory calls and early-stage conversations with firm owners and partners
- Build trust and communicate Windsor Path's value proposition to CPA firm owners
- Coordinate NDA execution and collection of preliminary financial data
- Organize preliminary financials into a standardized format for handoff to the deal execution team
- Support the deal team in advancing qualified opportunities through the LOI process
- Manage and develop a junior Business Development Associate
- Set outreach cadence, messaging strategy, and activity targets for the BDR function
- Build repeatable processes and playbooks as the team grows
- Represent Windsor Path in the market with integrity, discretion, and professionalism
- Track competitive dynamics, including acquirers, multiples, and Windsor Path's positioning
- Develop and maintain relationships with brokers, intermediaries, and industry contacts
Requirements
What you’ll need- 4-7 years of experience in M&A origination, business development, or corporate development at a consolidator, roll-up platform, PE-backed portfolio company, or M&A advisory firm
- Demonstrated track record of sourcing deals that advanced to LOI or close; specific numbers required
- Experience with CRM systems such as Affinity, DealCloud, Salesforce, or similar
- Strong understanding of pipeline management discipline
- Comfort with cold outreach and relationship-building with business owners who may not be in an active sale process
- Financial literacy sufficient to review a P&L, identify key metrics, and organize preliminary financial data
- Strong written and verbal communication
- Preferred: experience in professional services M&A, particularly accounting, tax, or advisory firms
- Preferred: experience managing or mentoring junior BD team members
- Preferred: familiarity with the CPA firm landscape, including firm structures, owner priorities, and succession-planning transaction dynamics
- Preferred: prior experience at a consolidator or roll-up platform
