About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Review provider-documented instructions related to lab and imaging results
- Contact patients to communicate provider-reviewed results and instructions
- Help patients understand next administrative steps based on provider direction
- Recognize when patients should be scheduled for appointments or directed back to providers
- Avoid independently diagnosing, interpreting results, recommending treatment, or giving medical advice
- Speak with patients about provider instructions, follow-up needs, testing, referrals, and appointment coordination
- Schedule follow-up appointments when requested by providers
- Coordinate additional testing, referrals, repeat labs, imaging, and other follow-up needs
- Document patient interactions accurately in AdvancedMD
- Update patient charts with communication notes, scheduling updates, follow-up actions, and administrative details
- Maintain confidentiality and follow healthcare documentation standards
- Identify and escalate questions or concerns requiring provider review
- Coordinate with providers and internal team members to complete patient follow-up
- Use AdvancedMD, Ooma, email, phone tools, EHR workflows, and internal practice communication systems
Requirements
What you’ll need- Medical Assistant experience required or similar clinical administrative experience in a medical practice setting
- Lab or imaging results follow-up experience required
- Patient communication experience required
- EHR documentation experience required
- Scheduling and patient coordination experience required
- Must speak and write English clearly and professionally
- Must have relevant work experience
- Must provide an NBI Clearance and/or Local Police Clearance before onboarding
- Must be available for video meetings with camera on when required
- Reliable laptop or desktop computer
- Stable high-speed internet connection, minimum 25 Mbps
- Noise-canceling headset
- Working webcam
- Quiet and professional work environment
- AdvancedMD experience preferred but not required
- Spanish-English bilingual communication preferred but not required
