Key responsibilities & impact
  • Maintain, optimize, and scale a mixed physical and virtual computing environment
  • Own and advance server and network infrastructure
  • Provide high-level technical support for systems
  • Develop and deploy automation solutions, specifically in Python
  • Collaborate with senior engineers to scale systems
  • Maintain, troubleshoot, and improve networks, routing protocols, and computing systems
  • Support mission-critical production systems and back-office core infrastructure functions
  • Handle infrastructure deployments, critical incidents, and maintenance windows, including out-of-business-hours support when required

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Motivated to find effective solutions to problems ranging from data centre connectivity to hands-on hardware troubleshooting
  • Solid understanding of data centre connectivity, structured cabling, and TCP/IP networking concepts, including IPv4/IPv6 and subnetting
  • Hands-on experience configuring, managing, and troubleshooting Cisco switches, such as Catalyst or Nexus series
  • Practical knowledge of server hardware, network appliances, and computer internals
  • Ability to troubleshoot Linux server operating systems, enterprise applications, and network infrastructure issues
  • Minimum of 5 years of systems administration, network infrastructure engineering, or related experience
  • Experience diagnosing network performance issues, packet loss, and latency using Wireshark, tcpdump, or traceroute
  • Ability to analyse, troubleshoot, and resolve complex hardware failures, performance bottlenecks, and component issues
  • Familiarity and hands-on experience with Git workflow
  • Ability to work as part of a team supporting mission-critical production systems and back-office core infrastructure functions
  • Experience with hardware/network monitoring tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, or SNMP, and performance tuning
  • Professional and clear communication in technical interactions, inquiries, and status updates
  • Strong organisational skills and meticulous attention to detail
  • Ability to work weekend and evening shifts and provide out-of-business-hours support when required
  • Nice-to-have: experience deploying, configuring, and monitoring enterprise firewalls and ACLs
  • Nice-to-have: familiarity with BGP, OSPF, or static routing
  • Nice-to-have: familiarity with enterprise Linux server environments and automated deployment tools
  • Nice-to-have: practical experience writing Python scripts for network administration, Cisco provisioning, and infrastructure automation
