About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Define and maintain the global frontend and backend architecture vision
Own technical decisions involving refactoring, scalability, and trade-offs between new features and technical debt
Improve collaboration across teams by breaking down communication silos
Understand business and product context to guide implementation choices
Collaborate with Product Owners on delivery planning
Ensure technical quality, performance, and maintainability
Deliver the most complex and critical parts of the frontend and backend codebase
Establish engineering best practices through code reviews, pair programming, and direct contributions
Support and coach developers to grow their skills and autonomy
Facilitate technical alignment between frontend and backend teams
Serve as the main technical interface with Product Owners and leadership
Spend approximately 70% of time as an Individual Contributor and 30% on coordination, mentoring, and cross-functional alignment

Requirements

What you’ll need

7+ years of experience in software engineering
Strong track record as an Individual Contributor on complex products
Experience managing a team of software engineers and helping them grow
Strong fullstack background with a backend-first mindset (Python)
Fully comfortable owning frontend work (Next.js or equivalent)
Good communication skills and ability to collaborate with Product and align technical decisions with business priorities
Native or fluent level in French
Bonus: Experience in SaaS, event-tech, or complex interfaces and operations-heavy B2B2C products
