About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Develop and maintain MathType features and integrations based on user stories and acceptance criteria
- Fix bugs and investigate technical issues
- Apply clean code, separation of concerns, modularity, and readability
- Write and maintain automated tests
- Follow team standards for Git, branching, pull requests, and CI/CD
- Collaborate with the Tech Lead, developers, and Product Trio within a Kanban framework
- Use AI-assisted development tools responsibly for coding, testing, and debugging, validating output before merging
- Keep user stories updated in Kanbanize and communicate progress, blockers, and technical questions
Requirements
What you’ll need- Degree (or equivalent practical knowledge) in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field
- 1–2 years of software development experience, including academic projects, internships, personal projects, or professional work
- Solid grasp of programming fundamentals, data structures, and object-oriented or modular programming principles
- Foundational knowledge of JavaScript, TypeScript, HTML, CSS, and browser fundamentals
- Basic understanding of REST APIs, HTTP, JSON, and backend concepts using PHP or Java
- Familiarity with Git, branching, commits, pull requests, IDEs, debugging tools, and clean code practices
- Familiarity with AI-assisted tools such as GitHub Copilot and ability to review generated code
- Fluency in Spanish and English
- Nice to have: Moodle architecture or plugins, Vue.js, third-party SDKs/integrations, or Agile/Kanban methodologies
