About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Meet regularly with the LEAD/FSP Programs Coordinator
- Engage regularly with an assigned caseload of 10–15 eligible Fostering Success Program students
- Communicate with students in person, virtually, by email, and by phone/text
- Work SSC office hours and in the field for student meetings, activities, and events
- Listen actively, answer student questions, and connect students with SET staff, campus, and community resources
- Independently plan, promote, market, and execute events, activities, and outings
- Order and/or prepare equipment, supplies, and catering/dining for events
- Follow Student Success Center, SET Department, and UWSP policies and procedures
- Promote SET Department and UWSP mission and vision
- Maintain organization and cleanliness of the Student Success Center during office hours
- Answer calls and emails, ensure kiosk sign-ins, and complete documentation in Navigate and other programs
- Demonstrate responsible leadership to meet program goals
Requirements
What you’ll need- Be enrolled at UWSP at least part-time (minimum of 6 credits or more)
- Be in good academic standing (minimum GPA of 2.0 or higher)
- Knowledge of UWSP campus resources, or willingness to learn
- Ability to work with minimal supervision independently and collaboratively
- Ability to support students in 1:1 and small group settings
- Ability to foster an open, friendly, and engaging environment respecting diverse student needs
- Working knowledge of trauma-informed care practices, or willingness to learn
- Ability to address sensitive student concerns professionally, compassionately, and confidentially
- Flexibility to adapt to last-minute schedule changes and planning pivots
- Sophomore standing or higher preferred
- Relevant major preferred, including Social Work, Sociology, Psychology, or Human Services
- Experience with mentoring, coaching, leadership, event planning, marketing, or coordination preferred
- Experience with Canva or other design software, or willingness to learn
- Resume, brief cover letter, and contact information for two references required for application
- Authorization to work within the United States required
- Criminal background check required upon offer
