About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Maintain and develop the discretionary Managed Portfolio Service model range
- Conduct fund and ETF due diligence, including quantitative screening, factor and style analysis, cost and liquidity assessment, manager due diligence and ongoing monitoring
- Prepare rebalance proposals for the Investment Committee
- Monitor portfolio risk against mandate constraints and escalate breaches to the Head of Investment Management
- Maintain risk-profiling documentation and support ratings submissions and due diligence questionnaires
- Run the rebalance cycle, including pre-trade checks, platform-specific model file generation, upload, post-trade reconciliation and completion evidence
- Manage share-class and platform-specific ISIN mapping, cash and money-market handling, minimum trade sizes and platform dealing constraints
- Support onboarding of model ranges onto new platforms and reporting or data systems
- Maintain implementation controls and an audit trail
- Produce and interrogate performance and attribution analysis
- Review factsheets, commentary, Investment Committee papers and minutes
- Respond to adviser and client questions and present at meetings, webinars and due diligence sessions
- Contribute to Consumer Duty obligations and maintain records for internal audit and FCA scrutiny
- Meet Certification Regime fit-and-proper requirements and complete annual CPD
- Build and maintain tooling for reconciliation, upload-file generation, performance data, holdings look-through and report production
- Use AI tooling to accelerate research synthesis, drafting, data manipulation and script development while validating outputs and protecting sensitive data
Requirements
What you’ll need- IMC or an equivalent RQF Level 4 qualification appropriate to managing investments, held at the point of application
- Numerate degree or demonstrably equivalent analytical capability
- Professional qualifications to work toward if not already held: CISI Level 6 PCIAM, CISI Level 7 Diploma in Wealth Management (Chartered Wealth Manager), or CFA Charter
- Minimum two years' relevant experience in multi-asset portfolio management, model portfolio management, fund research and selection, or investment implementation and operations in a UK discretionary or MPS environment
- Direct experience running or supporting model portfolios, including rebalancing, trade generation, platform models and reconciliation
- Advanced Excel, including complex formulas and structured data handling
- Demonstrable data manipulation capability
- Confident use of investment data and analytics platforms such as Morningstar Direct, FE Analytics, Bloomberg or FactSet
- Practical, current use of AI tooling in a working context, with understanding of its value, limitations and output validation
- Precision under deadline and high accuracy
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to state and defend an investment view before an Investment Committee
- Process improvement mindset
- Strong organisational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities and workstreams
- Desirable: experience across multiple adviser platforms
- Desirable: exposure to Consumer Duty fair value assessment or MPS due diligence processes
