About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Provide individual and family therapy to assigned clients
- Conduct group therapy sessions
- Establish positive, trusting rapport with clients
- Diagnose and treat mental health disorders
- Create and update individualized treatment plans
- Meet with patients regularly and adjust treatment plans as needed
- Coordinate and arrange services for individual clients
- Conduct ongoing assessments of patient progress
- Involve and advise family members when appropriate
- Refer patients to outside specialists or agencies when necessary
- Maintain thorough records of patient meetings and progress
- Follow safety protocols and maintain client confidentiality
- Communicate with outpatient providers to ensure continuity of care
- Attend weekly staff meetings and treatment team meetings
- Create weekly individualized therapeutic and experiential opportunities
- Conduct concurrent insurance reviews
- Engage in mental health parity advocacy
- Participate in community-based speaking opportunities to increase eating disorder awareness
- Perform other duties assigned by the supervisor
Requirements
What you’ll need- Minimum of a Master’s Degree in Psychology, Social Work or related field
- Must be fully licensed and able to work without supervision
- Must be licensed in South Carolina
- Willingness and ability to obtain licensure in at least one or more of AL, FL, GA, NC, and SC when asked
- Must not be opted out of Medicare
- Experience treating clients with Eating Disorders
- Understanding of models and theories of eating disorders, trauma, mental illness, and related issues
- Knowledge of treatment, recovery, relapse prevention, and continuing care for dually diagnosed populations
- Understanding of diagnostic criteria for co-occurring conditions and placement criteria within the continuum of care
- Understanding of diverse cultures and gender-specific issues
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
- Ability to prioritize workload and work independently
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Reliable internet connection
- Comfort operating a computer and smartphone and navigating macOS and iOS applications
- Ability to communicate via chat, telephone, and video calls
- Ability to sit for the majority of the shift
- Ability to work in a private, quiet space with minimal background noise
