About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Develop and execute a national growth strategy for Cost Segregation services
  • Collaborate with regional, industry, and national leadership teams to identify and prioritize market opportunities
  • Drive expansion and penetration within strategic tax clients and target markets
  • Partner with Tax Partners and Client Service Leaders on competitive opportunities
  • Manage business development initiatives, pipeline, opportunity tracking, and booked-revenue reporting
  • Build and maintain relationships with clients, referral sources, and industry organizations
  • Lead and manage cost segregation engagements from opportunity assessment through final delivery
  • Perform and review cost segregation studies for commercial and residential properties
  • Analyze projects and advise clients on the appropriateness and benefits of cost segregation services
  • Research and document applicable tax laws, regulations, and IRS guidance
  • Provide tax planning recommendations to maximize deductions, reduce tax liability, and improve client cash flow
  • Identify additional tax-saving opportunities and value-added client services
  • Monitor legislative, regulatory, and industry developments affecting cost segregation and related tax incentives
  • Develop and implement processes, procedures, methodologies, quality controls, operating procedures, and training materials
  • Recruit, train, mentor, and develop cost segregation professionals
  • Lead cross-functional teams and coordinate resources across service lines
  • Serve as a subject matter expert for firm leadership and team members
  • Establish practice goals, priorities, and growth initiatives
  • Represent Withum in industry organizations, conferences, and client-facing events
  • Report directly to the National Tax Services Group Leader and collaborate with regional, industry, geographic, national service-line, business-development, and client-service leaders

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, Engineering, Construction Management, or related field required
  • 10+ years of experience in cost segregation, tax consulting, engineering-based tax services, or related field
  • Proven experience leading and growing a professional services practice or business unit
  • Demonstrated expertise in cost segregation methodologies, tangible property regulations, and depreciation strategies
  • Strong business development experience with a track record of generating revenue growth
  • Experience building, mentoring, and managing teams
  • Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines
  • Exceptional written, verbal, presentation, and client communication skills
  • Experience developing operational processes and implementing best practices
  • Ability to influence and collaborate with senior leadership across multiple geographic markets
  • Strategic mindset with demonstrated ability to identify growth opportunities and execute market expansion plans
  • Strong leadership capabilities with the ability to motivate and develop high-performing teams
  • Exceptional relationship management and networking skills
