About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Develop and enhance core translation services and backend applications using Java and Spring Boot
  • Integrate AI/LLM translation capabilities and direct LLM/machine translation provider APIs into content processing infrastructure
  • Evaluate and improve translation quality, system scalability, cost efficiency, and latency
  • Build highly available REST APIs and Kafka-driven asynchronous pipelines for high-volume content and translation tasks
  • Implement monitoring, logging, error handling, retries, automated testing, and validation mechanisms
  • Drive performance tuning and architecture enhancements for increasing translation volumes
  • Assist with production deployments, CI/CD pipelines, system monitoring, and troubleshooting
  • Partner with engineering teams, product managers, and stakeholders on technical design, architecture, code reviews, and documentation
  • Contribute to platform evolution for international expansion, additional languages, and diverse content formats across major media brands

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Proven expertise in Java and Spring Boot for building scalable RESTful APIs and enterprise microservices
  • Hands-on experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP) or other major public cloud environments
  • Experience with Apache Kafka or similar messaging systems for event-driven architectures and streaming pipelines
  • Experience integrating LLMs, AI APIs, or Machine Translation (MT) technologies and multilingual content workflows
  • Proficiency with Git, CI/CD pipelines, automated testing (unit, integration, e2e), code reviews, and Agile methodologies
  • Excellent technical communication skills with fluency in written and spoken English
  • Prior experience building or maintaining content management platforms (CMS), digital publishing systems, or media workflows
  • Experience evaluating LLM prompt engineering, fine-tuning, or MT quality estimation metrics (e.g., BLEU, COMET)
