About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Plan and coordinate manufacturing processes at the Batesville, Indiana plant
- Create and maintain accurate 3D CAD models
- Produce manufacturing documentation, including prints, tolerances, bills of material, assembly instructions, and quality checklists
- Develop, evaluate, and improve manufacturing methods across fabrication, tooling, production equipment, finishing, assembly, and quality control
- Analyze workflow, space requirements, and workforce utilization
- Design equipment and workspace layouts for maximum efficiency
- Troubleshoot product and process issues with manufacturing personnel
- Evaluate, develop, and process product improvement requests
- Work with vendors to determine product specifications and arrange purchases of equipment, materials, or parts
- Estimate production times, staffing requirements, and related costs
- Apply statistical methods to forecast future manufacturing needs
- Coordinate with management and staff on manufacturing capabilities and production schedules
- Follow Wood-Mizer safety, quality, and company policies and procedures
- Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor's degree in engineering
- 1–3 years of manufacturing experience
- Ability to develop engineering models, engineering drawings, and bills of materials
- Basic understanding of manufacturing processes
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Working knowledge of 3D CAD software
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office products
- Working knowledge of manufacturing database systems
- Experience with Creo preferred
- Familiarity with ERP systems, with Syteline preferred
- Ability to frequently sit and use a computer
- Ability to occasionally stand and walk on the production floor
- Ability to occasionally lift and carry up to 50 lbs
- Ability to use required PPE, including safety glasses, hearing protection, and steel-toe boots on the production floor
