About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Drive commercial performance, support business growth, and manage contractual and commercial risk across the Consulting Business Unit
- Implement and execute commercial strategies aligned with business objectives
- Ensure compliance with commercial and contracting policies
- Support commercialization of service offerings to maximize value creation
- Work closely with operational and leadership teams to support sustainable growth, risk mitigation, and business success
- Demonstrate strong safety leadership and promote a positive safety culture
- Act with the highest standards of ethics and integrity in all commercial activities
- Ensure compliance with delegated authority requirements and Wood's commercial and contracting policies
- Lead pre-award commercial activities, including tender reviews, proposal evaluations, pricing submissions, and commercial qualifications
- Ensure compliance with commercial governance, processes, and procedures across the business unit or region
- Oversee commercial administration activities, including bonds, parent company guarantees, and insurance requirements
- Develop, implement, and maintain project commercial strategies, handover plans, subcontracting strategies, and profit improvement initiatives
- Coordinate contract reviews and develop commercial qualifications and contract amendments with the Contracts team
- Coordinate estimate reviews to establish pricing models, cost recovery mechanisms, and compliance with client-specific pricing requirements
Requirements
What you’ll need- Proven years of experience in a commercial, contracts, project controls, or other technically relevant role
- Strong understanding of commercial management, contract administration, and risk management principles
- Awareness and application of corporate, commercial, and project procedures and governance requirements
- Knowledge of tendering, contract review, pricing strategies, and commercial negotiations
- Experience supporting complex projects within engineering, construction, energy, or related industries
- Ability to interpret contractual terms and identify commercial risks and opportunities
- Strong stakeholder management, communication, and influencing skills
- Degree in Engineering, Quantity Surveying, Law, Business Studies, or a related discipline; professional qualification (preferred)
