About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Perform technical engineering design related to mining and metal processing
- Prepare and review technical specifications, equipment lists, calculations, reports, design criteria, tender documentation, installation contract documents, and other documents
- Ensure documents comply with project requirements, design criteria, statutory regulations, good practice, and company procedures
- Ensure designs support construction methods and facilitate plant maintenance and operations
- Maintain and adhere to design engineering standards on all projects
- Review and comment on design documents and drawings
- Review and approve vendor documentation for compliance with project specifications
- Liaise with site construction staff to resolve engineering design issues
- Allocate work and assist discipline engineers and designers on projects
- Contribute to progress reports, including achievements and issues
- Contribute to project proposals and estimates
- Collaborate with other disciplines and Project Managers to meet client objectives in a timely and cost-effective manner
- Ensure compliance and take initiative regarding safety and environmental issues
Requirements
What you’ll need- Mechanical Engineering Undergraduate (BSc) or Graduate degree
- Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) in Canada with the ability to register in the province of Saskatchewan is required
- A minimum of 3-5 years focusing on mining projects
- Ability to work efficiently and demonstrate effective organizational skills
- Applicants must be authorized to work lawfully in Canada without sponsorship from Wood, now or in the future
- Knowledge of mining projects is considered an asset
- Knowledge of materials handling, mechanical package experience, and fabrication is considered an asset
