About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Direct preparation of engineering documentation through conceptual, feasibility, FEED and EPC phases
- Ensure successful completion of assigned projects or phases within budgeted time and cost constraints
- Participate in defining engineering approaches and planning and scheduling work
- Evaluate problems, organize investigations, and establish performance specifications for components, equipment, systems and processes
- Check engineering calculations and drawings against industry codes and standards
- Assist with development of junior technical professionals
- Comply with discipline-specific procedures and provide feedback for continuous improvement
- Establish detailed designs and performance specifications
- Meet discipline cost and schedule requirements and prepare progress reports
- Recommend changes to plans and estimated costs when necessary
- Participate in site visits, project review meetings, design reviews and workshops
- Provide technical input and support to proposals
Requirements
What you’ll need- MSc degree in Electrical Engineering - Mandatory
- 18th Edition Wiring Regulations certificate
- Proficient user of relevant software and calculation templates (Amtech Trimble)
- Ability to comprehend and interpret Electrical technical information
- Strong knowledge of ATEX/UKEX standards; ExF and Ex12 desirable
- Working knowledge of applicable codes and standards
- Working-level competence in own discipline in execution of assigned tasks
- Working-level knowledge of industry and technology development within the discipline
- Ability to create functional and cost-effective designs and processes meeting complex specification requirements with little support
- Knowledge and experience of electrical generation, transformation and distribution systems
- Familiarity with specification and interface management of Electrical requirements for Mechanical packages
- Familiarity interfacing with Client Engineers to facilitate project execution
- Experience managing and liaising with Vendors
- Familiarity with Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT)
- Previous site survey experience desirable
- Offshore design experience desirable
- Experienced user of specialist engineering software desirable
