About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Manage and coordinate project staff and subcontractors to ensure safe, cost-effective, efficient, and timely project completion
- Act as a technical professional resource for multiple major challenging projects
- Develop and maintain communication channels with clients, stakeholders, and internal personnel
- Oversee project budgets, schedules, and reports
- Monitor engineering, procurement, and construction progress
- Chair project meetings and ensure schedules progress
- Review engineering and capital cost-control forecasts
- Gather current information at project sites, meet with clients, and monitor work performance
Requirements
What you’ll need- Undergraduate or Graduate Degree in Engineering from a recognized university
- Minimum of 8 years engineering or operations experience focusing on heavy industrial projects, including at least 2 years in a project management role
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment
- Ability to work with people at all levels
- Effective organizational skills and ability to multitask
- Strong track record of successful project completion
- Completion of a diploma or degree in a certified project management program is considered an asset
- Willingness to travel for varying durations and at times to remote locations
- Authorization to work lawfully in Canada without sponsorship from Wood is required
