About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Partner with Regional Business Development SVPs and business leaders to support regional growth through high-quality, winning proposals
- Ensure an effective team structure meets regional proposal and business development needs
- Provide leadership, coaching, and support to Proposals Development Managers
- Drive compliance with Proposal Development processes, procedures, and governance requirements
- Ensure team members complete required training and maintain proposal management competency
- Lead recruitment, performance management, succession planning, and compensation and promotion recommendations
- Manage regional Proposal Development resource allocation and coordinate support from other regions
- Facilitate win-planning sessions, colour team reviews, and management reviews for strategic pursuits
- Oversee continuous improvement of proposal content libraries, including project profiles, experience records, resumes, case studies, and boilerplate content
- Foster collaboration across Business Development, Operations, Commercial, and other stakeholders to improve proposal quality and win probability
- Promote continuous improvement, knowledge sharing, and excellence within the Proposals Development team
- Comply with the Wood Code of Business Conduct, Anti-Bribery and Corruption requirements, and corporate policies
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university
- Minimum 10 years’ experience leading and managing the Proposal Development process within a complex, client-focused environment
- Demonstrated experience managing a functional area, large department, or geographically dispersed team
- Thorough understanding of Proposal Development methodologies, industry best practices, and winning proposal techniques
- Strong leadership capability with extensive management expertise
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Adobe Acrobat
- Experience with SharePoint and Adobe InDesign is highly desirable
- Proven ability to lead organizational change, implement new processes, and drive adoption of best practices
- Demonstrated success in leading, motivating, and developing high-performing proposal teams
- Strong project management skills, including prioritizing competing demands and managing multiple concurrent pursuits
- Exceptional verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
- Highly organized with excellent planning, coordination, and execution capabilities
