About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Assist with administrative functions supporting the Business Technology and Strategic Initiatives divisions
  • Gain exposure to planning, execution and evaluation stages of work projects and initiatives in the insurance industry
  • Meet weekly with the Internship Cohort, Executive Leadership and division-level leaders
  • Summarize and present a capstone presentation covering internship accomplishments, skill development and key learnings
  • Serve as a key member of the Agile team and act as the business owner or customer proxy
  • Define and prioritize user stories in the team backlog
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to align backlog items with business needs and maximize value for end users
  • Ensure user stories meet the Definition of Done and align with strategic objectives
  • Liaise between development teams and business units to translate product features and user requirements into actionable stories
  • Break down epics into smaller, valuable stories deliverable within Agile iterations
  • Create clear, concise and testable user stories following INVEST criteria
  • Participate in sprint planning, stand-ups and retrospectives

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Sophomore, Junior or Senior in college with area of study in Business Administration, Project Management, Information Systems or related fields
  • Must have a 3.5 or higher GPA
  • Ability to work 38.75 hours per week
  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively while working collaboratively
  • Proficient computer skills including knowledge of Microsoft Office
  • Ability to provide seamless, trustworthy, attentive and resourceful (S.T.A.R.) customer service
  • Passion for making an impact in local communities
  • Clearly and promptly shares information, actively listens, and delivers concise verbal and written communication
  • Applies critical thinking, evaluates available information, and anticipates outcomes to identify effective solutions
  • Generates and shares creative ideas and seeks opportunities to improve processes, products, or outcomes
  • Required to complete a criminal background check, credit check when required, fingerprint check when required, drug screen and reference checks
