About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Gain broad exposure to the WoodmenLife organization through weekly internship cohort meetings, executive leadership meetings, and one-on-one meetings with division leaders
  • Summarize and present a capstone presentation covering internship accomplishments, skill development, and key learnings
  • Serve as a key member of the Agile intern team in the Developer role
  • Collaborate with development teams to build and maintain software solutions using Microsoft technologies, focusing on Azure services and toolsets
  • Manage Azure DevOps pipelines and work items to support continuous integration and delivery workflows
  • Contribute to the design and development of scalable, efficient, and maintainable software systems
  • Write code, debug, and test applications using Java, C#, .NET, and Python
  • Participate in Agile processes including sprint planning, stand-ups, and retrospectives
  • Apply software engineering best practices including version control, documentation, and code reviews

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Sophomore, Junior or Senior in college with area of study in Computer Science, Information Technology, Data Analytics or related fields
  • Must have a 3.5 or higher GPA
  • Ability to work 38.75 hours per week
  • Proficient computer skills including knowledge of Microsoft Office
  • Experience with software development, code repositories and software IDEs
  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively while working collaboratively
  • Ability to provide seamless, trustworthy, attentive and resourceful (S.T.A.R.) customer service
  • Passion for making an impact in local communities
  • Must successfully pass required criminal background, credit, fingerprint, drug screening and reference checks as applicable
  • Ability to work in a flexible and hybrid environment
