About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to elicit data requirements and architect effective data pipelines.
Perform data transformations and cleansing operations to ensure data accuracy and consistency.
Evolve existing scripts and notebooks to meet client needs.
Work closely with data managers to ensure data quality with project objectives.
Document programming efforts and processes, technical specifications, and best practices.
Coordinate with the broader team to ensure project success.
Submit monthly status reports on project efforts.
Support the Azure Government Cloud.
Develop backend programs and integrations within the Azure Government Cloud environment.
Leverage database platforms to support data solutions for government clients.
Collaborate with engineers, geospatial experts, and environmental scientists to ensure data solution availability, interoperability, integrity, and security.

Requirements

What you’ll need

U.S. citizenship.
Active Tier 1 Investigation (National Agency Check and Inquiries NACI), or security clearance.
Willingness to undergo a background check and drug screening.
Ability and willingness to travel and meet clients as needed, up to 1 week per year.
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience (1 year).
Python development experience required.
Experience working with Databricks and/or Spark is a plus.
JavaScript development experience is a plus.
Previous exposure to data visualization tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau) is required.
Experience managing and working with relational databases, including PostgreSQL.
Sound grasp of programming and database principles.
Familiarity with cloud computing concepts, specifically Azure Gov Cloud.
Strong analytical and problem-solving acumen.
Exceptional teamwork and communication skills.
Ability to successfully pass comprehensive background checks required for government security clearance.
Azure 900 and Security+ baseline certifications or the ability to attain within the first 6 weeks.
Practical experience with Azure Gov Cloud services.
Familiarity with geospatial data, GIS technologies, and pertinent geospatial standards.
Familiarity with modern data storage and processing technologies.
Experience handling sensitive data in secure government environments.
Understanding data governance and data security best practices.
Exposure to version control systems (e.g., Git) and CI/CD pipelines.
