About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Lead electrical engineering technical work for complex projects
- Track project scope, schedule, fee, and progress
- Oversee technical reviews and provide high-quality deliverables
- Guide teams on electrical engineering models, plans, details, drawings, standards, and modeling techniques
- Guide electrical design for medium-voltage distribution, microgrids, photovoltaic systems, battery systems, building power systems, lighting, and low-voltage systems
- Guide SKM, arc flash, and photometric calculations
- Support team members’ career development and technical advancement
- Motivate and inspire team members
- Communicate complex technical information to non-technical stakeholders
- Manage project and staffing plans
- Oversee project phases from initiation to completion, ensuring schedule, budget, and quality objectives
- Serve as technical expert and discipline representative at meetings and events
- Contribute to proposals and strategic/KPI goals
- Deliver presentations at conferences, networking events, and professional organizations
- Conduct internal employee training
Requirements
What you’ll need- BA/BS or MA/MS in a related field and fifteen (15) years related experience
- Registered Professional Engineer (PE) certification required
- Minimum of 10 years of experience leading engineering projects
- Experience in building power systems, lighting design, medium-voltage distribution, SKM analysis, and photometric calculations
- Experience with building electrical system design for commercial, mixed-use, aviation, hospitality, and/or high-rise preferred
- Experience designing sustainable building systems, including familiarity with LEED, Green Building Institute, or other sustainability credentialing
- Excellent presentation, interpersonal, and organizational skills
- Expert verbal and written communication abilities
- Experience with discipline-related software applications and calculation tools
- Substantial experience designing in Autodesk Revit 3-D modeling software and directing construction documents
- Experience conducting and leading QAQC and coordinating design documents between disciplines
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret complex scientific and technical documents
- Ability to respond effectively to sensitive inquiries from clients, regulatory agencies, and/or business community members
- Ability to write technical opinions, articles, and thought leadership social media
- Willingness to travel to project sites or offices as needed
