About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Serve as an in-house data expert on organizing tools, including EveryAction, Mobilize, VAN, Votivate, and others
  • Design and implement data organization approaches and maintain data in organizing systems
  • Develop systems, structures, templates, processes, and documentation for entering, modifying, and retrieving data
  • Own WFP’s endorsement and elected official processes and maintain related databases
  • Ensure systems meet organizational needs and data is collected timely
  • Conduct quality assurance and quality checks
  • Maintain clean, accurate, and well-documented data as a single source of truth
  • Standardize data generation across voter contact tools
  • Audit organizing tools for permissions and data protocol compliance
  • Respond to data requests from organizers, fundraisers, and divisions through the Data Department ticketing system
  • Troubleshoot permissions, bulk uploads, and other data challenges
  • Train and support organizers on tool use, data processes, and clean data practices
  • Set up API integrations between tools, such as VAN and Scale to Win
  • Enter, modify, and retrieve data for organizers
  • Resolve data issues, identify tool gaps, and implement workflow improvements
  • Write SQL queries to answer data inquiries across programmatic areas
  • Provide data visualizations and reporting with actionable insights into electoral and member organizing
  • Coordinate with the Data Department, Engineering Team, Analytics Director, and Data Director on prioritization, integrations, models, and progress reporting

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Applicants must be currently authorized to work for any employer in the U.S.
  • At least 2 years of experience working for candidate campaigns and movement organizations in data and organizer roles
  • Experience and deep familiarity administrating electoral software tools, such as VAN, EveryAction, Mobilize, and Scale to Win
  • Facility with SQL and BigQuery in political contexts
  • Experience using Google Sheets and/or Airtable in advanced organizing contexts
  • Deep familiarity with at least one and ideally multiple national voterfile products, including TargetSmart, Catalist, and L2 scores
  • Experience using Google Data Studio, Hex, or other platforms for data visualization and reporting
  • Experience self-organizing data projects from beginning to end: scoping, design, gathering input, implementation, maintenance, and improvement
  • Facility with analytical reasoning to troubleshoot technical and stakeholder problems
  • Ability to recognize patterns and carefully check assumptions
  • Excellent attention to detail and a keen eye for design
  • Ability to design and implement a system that addresses the needs of multiple stakeholders
  • Experience in a fast-paced, stakeholder-support role involving tickets and requests
  • Visa sponsorship is unavailable
