About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Support the development, implementation, and maintenance of the Occupational Health and Safety/Psychological Health and Safety Program
- Support training and development of mandatory health and safety programs, directives, and third-party health and safety training
- Support the development and implementation of corporate wellness initiatives
- Gather and analyze Health, Safety, and Wellness data from multiple sources to extract trends and organizational insights
- Support the Incident Management process to capture, document, and investigate workplace incidents and prevent recurrence
- Report to the Director, Health and Wellness
Requirements
What you’ll need- University degree in Science, Business Administration, Occupational Health and Safety, or another relevant discipline
- Minimum 3 years of work experience in administration of occupational health and safety programs
- Experience interpreting and applying relevant provincial/federal health and safety legislation, standards, statistical information, and guidelines
- Occupational Health and Safety knowledge
- Knowledge of health and safety regulations and related compliance requirements
- Knowledge of policies, guidelines, and standards of the NB Occupational Health and Safety Act and Regulation
- Understanding of the Workers Compensation Act
- Knowledge of health and safety, including ergonomics and/or physical safety hazards or organizational health and employee wellbeing
- Written and spoken competence in English is required
- Professional designation in Occupational Health and Safety, such as Canadian Registered Safety Professional, is considered an asset
